Wild Botanicals is a series of classes created on the basis of the harvest season in Snoqualmie Valley. Classes are in-person, outside and within the ecosystem of the plant(s). Students will learn botanical ID, look alikes, growth habits and harvesting ethics, plant processing and preparations. We will work with both wild and cultivated plants with edible and/or medicinal uses based on the class theme. Students are encouraged to bring their own in-field medicine making materials to experience the full process of field to kitchen medicine.
Flowers for Immunity
“Immunity. noun
A condition of being able to resist a particular disease especially through preventing development of a pathogenic microorganism or by counteracting the effects of its products”
Back to school season means a surge of new viruses, change in weather, and big transitions as the summer ends. This is the time where we turn to herbal allies for support during the time of transitions. It’s the time we strengthen our immune systems. And, it’s the time where the final floral display of defenses are still aplenty. Come join us as we work with plants on the highlands such as echinacea, burdock, spilanthes, boneset and more!
