Winter Wild Botanicals: Tree and Root Barks

from $44.00

While sap flows, the bark is more readily available to be peeled and harvested. This is the time to harvest the bark of trees (hello willow and cramp bark) and roots (oregon grape, devil’s club)- well, at least in the greater Seattle region. Join in this wild botanicals class where we will learn techniques of harvesting bark ethically and sustainably. We will start above ground and then move below, identifying and recognizing the characteristics of individual species as well as the barks on branches and rhizomes.
